The team from first position in the ranking plays the qualifier match then proceeds into the final round directly.
Third position and fourth position teams play the opening knockout match of the elimination round. The losing team exits while the surviving member progresses to face the second eliminator of the competition.
In the 2nd eliminator, the loser of the qualifier and winner of the first eliminator play for the second spot of the grand finale.
The exciting format provides this experience to us. Any ranking rule can be defeated when the fourth-placed team emerges as tournament champion. During the first season of HBL PSL Islamabad United followed this exact approach to success.
